The foundations of our programme are based on Te Whaariki, New Zealand's Early Childhood Curriculum. This curriculum is about the aspirations for children to grow up as competent and confident learners and communicators, healthy in mind, body and spirit, secure in their sense of belonging and in the knowledge that they make a valued contribution to society (Ministry of Education 1996).
At Young Explorers we believe children learn by doing what they love and are interested in. Our program evolves from children's strengths and interests, which educators notice, recognise and respond to by providing challenging and thought provoking experiences.
