sleeping and rest times

Infants and toddlers individual sleep routines are kept to that of their home routine where ever possible. They sleep in cots or on stretcher beds in a designated sleep room. Each child has their own linen which is supplied and laundered weekly by Young Explorers Early Learning Centre. Children over two years of age have a quiet rest time or sleep, if requested by their parents.

dummies and cuddlies

We prefer these are kept for sleeping and ask that you bring these to the centre in a named container or remain in the child's bag until it is rest time.

toys from home

Young Explorers is a well resourced centre that provides materials that are open-ended and provide children with the opportunity to be creative and expressive. While your child is at the centre we discourage them from bringing in their own toys as they can become lost, broken and cause confrontation (except if it is to help with settling). If a child chooses to bring a toy to the centre, it will be kept in the office and collected when the child goes home.

children under two

Children under the age of two, or until fully toilet trained, will be given a home to centre basket. The basket will be brought to the centre daily; the child's lunchbox and bottles will be put in the kitchen on arrival and their basket will be placed on the shelf in the change area containing all of their nappies and spare clothes. At the end of the day all of your child's belongings will be placed in the basket ready to take home.
