medication

If your child requires medication whilst in our care, you will need to complete a Medication Administration Form each day that the medication is required. We will only administer medication if this form has been filled in correctly, it is in it's original container and if it is a prescription medicine, it must be prescribed by a doctor. When you have filled in the form, inform an educator and they will place the medicine in a secure place.

The educator whom is responsible for administering the medicine will record the time and dosage that it was given to your child. It is your responsibility to collect your child's medicine at the end of the day.

Please ensure NO medicine is left in your child's bag.

immunisation

Our centre is required to maintain an up to date immunisation register for all children attending the centre. We will ask you to supply proof of immunisation and ask that you also advise the centre of any updated immunisations. It is not compulsory for your child to be immunised, though it is important for the centre to have this information in case there is a contagious outbreak. This way we can inform parents if necessary.

accidents and injuries

All educators employed by Young Explorers will hold a current First Aid Certificate and the centre will have a well equipped First Aid Kit onsite. All accidents and injuries will be recorded in our accident register and parents will be informed.
